Understand the three-part account format
Some services provide a server address, username and password for use in compatible players. Other services provide a playlist instead. The label used in a player does not establish who operates the service, whether content rights exist or which programmes are included.
Enter the address exactly as supplied
Protocol, host, port and path can affect a connection. Use the provider’s official instructions and avoid mixing details from separate accounts. Do not guess alternate servers or try to discover credentials. If the account fails, check expiry and permitted connections with the provider.

Distinguish account login from app activation
Your media player may have its own account or activation process. Paying for the player does not automatically renew the content subscription. Keep the records separate so you know whether to contact the app developer or the service provider.
Keep the whole login private
A server address combined with a username and password is sensitive account information. Redact all three when sharing screenshots. If details are exposed, ask the provider about replacing them and reviewing active access rather than simply deleting the public post.
