Separate internet access from local discovery
A phone may browse the web while being unable to find a television on the same premises. Casting often needs devices to communicate locally, not merely reach the internet. A guest network can deliberately restrict that communication.
Begin by recording the networks and devices involved. Similar network names do not prove the devices share a usable local path. Do not post wireless passwords or network account details when asking somebody to help interpret the setup.
Check the restrictions of the actual network
Google documents that access-point or client isolation can prevent supported streaming devices from communicating. It also describes limitations on networks that require a captive-portal sign-in. Those restrictions can explain why a hotel or guest connection works for browsing but not a particular streaming setup.
If you do not manage the network, ask the person who does. Do not disable protections on a shared router, bypass a restriction or assume you have permission to reconfigure equipment because your phone can connect.

Compare direct playback and casting separately
Where the service and device support it, direct playback can be a useful comparison with sending a stream from a phone. Record which activity works and which fails. This can help distinguish a local-discovery issue from an app, account or source problem.
Follow the current manufacturer instructions for any local-network permission needed by the casting app. Grant only permissions relevant to the verified app and task. Device generations and operating systems may expose different controls.
Choose an authorised supported arrangement
When the network does not support the proposed setup, ask about a permitted alternative rather than repeatedly resetting your television. Another device or connection must still comply with the service’s viewing-region and account-sharing terms.
Keep the support report short: exact models, network type, whether a portal is involved and the step where discovery fails. Avoid including credentials. Understanding the network boundary often saves time that would otherwise be spent reinstalling a correctly working player.

Frequently asked questions
Does using the same building Wi-Fi guarantee casting?+
No. Device isolation, network separation or a sign-in portal can affect local communication.
Can I turn off isolation on a network I do not manage?+
Ask the network manager. Do not alter shared-network protections without authorisation.
Let’s check your requirements
Send your device and plan questions. Availability, authorised content and the final service terms must be confirmed before payment.
